Abstract. Elster-glacial loess has been found below the Holstein Interglacial clay of the brick-works Kerrl at Northeim. This formation is now rather well exposed. Up to the present, there has not been safe evidence of loess of such a high age. A brief description of this new outcrop which is of significance for the Interglacial as well, is therefore presented.
